My b2evolution Version: 2.x

I've just been reading this page over at Technorati which suggests that to ping their site with each post, there's a bunch of code changes required. Whilst doing that isn't necessarily a big task, the page now seems rather old and the files they refer to may well not exist in b2's current incarnation. Is there a need to do these changes any more, or does b2 already have another method for dealing with such things?

b2 is not the same as b2evolution (hence the "evolution").

Anyway, b2evolution supports pinging out of the box, just install one (or more) of the shipped ping plugins and select the appropriate services when creating a post.

Does that page relate to the old b2 that b2evolution was based on many many moons ago? It certainly doesn't look like it is talking about any of the files in the current releases.

In the current releases you can ping ping-o-matic after every post and from looking at their website it looks like they ping technorati anyway:

Thanks. Should have realised that. I'm all set up now.

Install a new instance of a generic ping plugin, set it to techorati as in http://technorati.com/ping/ and check it on each blog that you want to ping.
