Thanks, and sorry. :( I didn't search. I just did a cursory glance at some topics. (Unlike me, but sometimes crap happens, lol.)
Is there any reason that you know of why this would suddenly happen? I have emailed my host. I have no idea what the MySQL server IP even is.
It's a host problem. Chances are mysql is overloaded or out of disk space .. either way it's them that needs to fix it ;)

It's fixed. YAY! It's the first time that has happened to me in the 8+ years I've had the website...so I was freaked.
This has been answered many times. Most likely your host denied socket access, so you have to enter MySQL server IP instead of "localhost" in basic.config.php
