My b2evolution Version: Not Entered

I'm trying to do a post that displays an image from an external side (smugmug), and I'm getting the following error.

Warning: getimagesize() [function.getimagesize]: Read error! in /homepages/46/d95138433/htdocs//blog/plugins/thumbnail_plugin/_thumbnail.plugin.php on line 117

The code I'm trying is:

IMG SRC=http://smugmug.com/path_to_image/test.jpg
(Removed greater than and less than signs in case they this forum processes them as HTML).

From the error message it appears teh b2evo is trying to "thumbnail" the image, but can't because its an external image... Is there a way around this for just my external images?
