Hello there...
I'm a newbie around this forum... *waves* Nice to meet cha!
My name is Ana and I just created a new b2 blog... However, I'm using the "basic" skin to be able to put it in an inline frame on a layout I have made. I am h aving problems changing the colors of the skin on the CSS sheet. I want to match them to my layout... Am I supposed to change them on the CSS style sheet because THAT IS what I'm doing and nothing happens. What could I be doing wrong?
http://www.la-bella.net/b2/baby.php is the link to my blog...
Here is the link to the layout I want to match it to.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Sure - I'll give it a go. There's no style sheet in the basic skin, and none called for when one views the source. That's probably why changing any content of any css file isn't resulting in any change. Only a guess though since I did all my stuff from the custom skin and don't do skin switching. Too werewolvian.

I know nothing about iframes so maybe that's the reason, but why don't you work from the custom skin, or maybe 'clean', and get the look you seek from something that is reasonably close?

Just a thought. Have fun!

Hi Ana,

I'm far from an expert, but I can confirm that changing the colors on your style sheet is the right thing to do. Are you sure you are changing the colors on the style sheet that you are actually using? I mean, it's possible that somebody (I'm not saying you, I'm just saying...) could use the templates editor in the admin backend and not realize that that templates editor ONLY allows you to edit the Custom template. If you are not using the Custom template, you need to make sure you are opening and editing the style sheet you are actually using. Again, I'm not accusing you of making this heinous error. ;)

Another thing...there is a very helpful tutorial series at http://www.mfr.f2s.com/graphicalcss/ designed help WordPress users customize their blogs, but since most b2 skins are WP compatible, most of the information is transferable. It was a godsend to me.

Hope this helps...somewhat at least.

Oh now I see where you have version 908. The custom skin from back then (yeah - way back then) was the old custom skin. The new one in 9010 is much closer to the layout you seek. I'd suggest you do the upgrade to .9.0.10 and get the latest and greatest version of the custom skin.

To be honest, I don't know if you actually need to upgrade the program itself to get the benefit of using the L&G custom skin. Might be able to take the skin without the program?

Here's a blog using the L&G custom: http://conservativerevolution.com/index.php?blog=2

Hey Ana!!! :D Fancy meeting you here! ;)
I emailed you a modified "wpc_golf" skin. I dunno what's wrong with the style sheet for the "basic" skin, but I couldn't modify it either. Maybe the sheet isn't called on from _main.php?? I dunno. I didn't really look.
In any case, I used your graphic to make the new "golf/baby" skin so I really hope you like it and if not, you can just dive into the stylesheet and spice it up! :D

*hugs* TTYL
Angela

PS If you're really dying to use an iframe, the "clean" skin might be what you're looking for. Just have to delete some extra stuff from _main.php.
