My b2evolution Version: 4.1.x

Ok, I can't get anyone to help with the other problems I've been having, but my host did finally switch me to PHP5, so I can now use the latest version. However, I can't just upgrade. It gives me database errors that no one seems to be able to help with. So I want to know is if I can pull the data from the item posts from the old database and transfer them to the new? Is there a way to do this, or will I have to manually enter in all the old posts?
