I personally think b2evo's logo is out of date with old fashioned web2.0 speech bubble + obnoxious gradient.I am not even gonna mention the font.It is also pretty hard to use in various enviroments.
I would like to propose a logo change, and i sketched out a few things, if not for a final decision, it can at least give some idea.
Preparing those, i beared in mind the 'evolution', and focused on the advances b2evo gone through 3.x and later, while staying true to its roots (classic sans-serif font, speech bubbles (blog-conversation- implication), and orange color -color of positivityand enthusiasm i think-.Therefore i used sans-serif fonts with softer curves despite the cutting edge feeling. And i chose to use rather bolder and slanted variants to symbolize boldness, stability while adding a little elasticity.
Final thoughts: I think the speech bubble icon can be kept, but it has to be smaller, and it maybe replaced with one of the o's to save space, and also it will allow us to shorten and refer to it as 'b2evo' as i often do.
PS: i used open source fonts and a CC symbol from the noun project, so we would not have problems if we decide to use any of these.

I kinda used to the old logo, and even to it's orange color although it took awhile :)
