Thanks for the quick reply personman. I haven't attempted to chance anything yet as want to learn from the experts here if making the change would have a negative impact on anything else.
Regarding finding the site which is creating a problem, it is becoming difficult. As there is no mechanism to know exact what blocked sites are causing problem. As I said I know for sure that the sites that i am linking too are not blocked, but the system would not let me blog successfully till I remove the links to that site.
Can't we insert some code that will bring us list of exact blocked sites that are causing the problem?

I don't know how to make it show you what keyword is causing the problem, but a bit more explanation about how the blacklist works might help you find it. The checker looks to see if the url in question contains the blocked keyword. So, the url for the site may not be blocked, but part of it may be in the blacklist. Example: if 'viagra' were in the blacklist (and it is) and you were trying to link to 'stupidviagraads.com', then the url would get blockes. If a keyword gets added to the blacklist that is too short, then it causes problems. Example: if someone were to ban all '.ru' sites (the central list doesn't, but some users have), then 'www.rugby.com' would bet blocked. So, display the whole blacklist, then search the page for parts of the url in question. If you want to post the link here, then I can help you. It's kind of hard to find the culprit, but it's a better solution than disabling link checking. And you might do the whole community a service by finding a keyword that shouldn't be blocked.

No Probs. The URl I was trying to link was http://itpro.comptia.com.au/events/default.aspx .

I'm able to post that link, so there's not a keyword in my blacklist that's stopping it. It might be a keyword that you added when you were de-spamming, rather than one that came from the blacklist. Also, I emptied by blacklist table not long ago, so if the keyword was already found and removed from the central list by then, then I didn't get it when I re-updated. Search your list for things like this:
pro.com
ro.com
om.au
com.au
irpr
ia.com
etc.

That seems to solve the problem. I checked on the sites that I deleted from the list and they came from the Central Server. But I am glad that this is fixed for now.
Is there a easy way to delete all the blacklisted sites from the database and get an update from B2evo servers again? Is this recommended?
Regards,
Thanks for the pointers.

AFAIK no one has recommended it, but you can do it if you want to. Check out the Fighting Spam! subform and you'll find a couple of hacks that address this issue. Your choice would depend on what version you're running.
http://forums.b2evolution.net/viewtopic.php?t=5394 works for dusty old versions. http://forums.b2evolution.net/viewtopic.php?t=5489 and it's turbo-charged cousin http://forums.b2evolution.net/viewtopic.php?t=5621 work for people hip enough to be running dawn (aka v.9.1b).

I use EdB's rechecker for Dawn. So, did you find the bad keyword(s)? If so I will delete them from the central list.
That would disable url checking in the 'link to url' field. Is that where you're having the problem? You could also disable all htmlchecking in the /conf/_formatting.php file, but that would be a bad idea. The best solution is to find the entry in your blacklist and delete it. Then let us know what blacklisted keyword was blocking a legit site and we'll get it off the central list, too. We try to be careful, but sometimes our keywords are a little too broad.
