Hello all,

I was wondering if there's any way to prevent the anti-spam (URL) check of my own postings? The anti-spam thing sometimes tells me that I can't put a particular URL in my own posting, and this evening I couldn't figure out what it didn't like about the URL.

(The URL was http://www.postcards.sa.com.au/features/yookamurra.html )

Does anyone know of a way to run the anti-spam stuff on comments and trackbacks posted by readers, but not on postings made by me?

Thanks,
Ross

cards. is in the blacklist. Delete it from you local copy and you'll be able to post the link.

WTF is such a simple and common term doing in the blacklist??? It will NOT be there very soon, not that this will help those who have an unmodified b2evolution installation and a fully updated blacklist.

Done. "cards." is no longer in the blacklist. That specific term was 'reported' by only one person then blacklisted. Truth is there is no way to report that keyword because there is no extension on it. This tells me one person decided to either manually create a report then publish it or edit an actual report prior to publishing it.

That's lame, unless you happen to be Francois ;)

I've no doubt this was not something Big-F did! When he does it the keyword will be something that is reasonably sure to be offensive to most users. Porn-related keywords, though not short ones that can easily be part of a family-friendly domain name. Drugs that are frequently pushed by hundreds of spammy sites (even though those words might be part of legitimate site names). Certainly NOT something as simple as "cards."!

Hi again,

Thanks for the help with "cards." I deleted it and got that URL in my post.

However, it still leaves me with the original question: Is there a way I can prevent any URL/anti-spam checking of my own posts?

For example, I see that .com.cn is blacklisted but there's a chance I would want to link to a site with that extension if I'm writing a piece about China.

Any thoughts?

No ... but it's a good enhancement suggestion (a checkbox in the edit/write pane that allows one to skip checking the blacklist when making/editing a post).

Add it to the list of "feature requests".

In the meantime, you might want to check out this hack I made, which (when used) will AT LEAST tell you which URL or keyword is causing the problem.

(I've been told that this hack will be included in the PHOENIX version).
