Perhaps I should have stated that the Blog was working and has been working for over a year and these problems have suddenly appeared.
Thanks

Have you or your web host made any changes that might have caused this? Upgrades? Editing core b2evolution files?

No,
To the best of my knowledge the hosting company hasn't made any changes and I haven't made any changes to the core b2evolution files

I think someone just mentioned today that when people use OpenSource software, such as b2evolution, the courteous thing to do is provide a link to http://b2evolution.net.
I had a quick look at your site and you're right the index.php?blog=1 link is working just fine, but I'm not spying a b2evolution link back anywhere.
I'm hoping this is just an oversite on your part, but it's often a prerequisite for receiving free help for your free software that you're using on your shopping cart site.
You've even stripped it from the register/login page, so I'm getting the impression that it was deliberate. :-/

You are perfectly correct I should acknowledge the open source community and I have amended the pages tonight to mention the b2evolution site and include a link.
I do recognise the effort and work put in by people such as yourself and am immensely grateful to you as I am sure thousands of others are. In my defence I didn't post the pages, somebody else did, taking the pages from the grumpieroldmen.co.uk site (to maintain a common look) made some changes and posted the pages. I have had very little to do with the blog and have only recently delved into the site as there is the problem with it.

Thanks for the acknowledgement and effort, though I still don't notice anything on the "Blog All" page that shows index.php?blog=1. I might suggest adding either a text link somewhere on the main page or adding one of those nifty little buttons people often use on their site (ours is in the footer, along with the xhtml and css buttons).
The behavior at the site is very odd indeed, though probably easily fixed.
I have sent you a PM request and will try to see if we can't get things going.
Make sure you've set your default blog in the backoffice to a blog that exists. I'm not sure how you could do otherwise, but that's the first place I would look.
Also, your blog=1 link is the "All blog". If you setup stub files then you can have an url like www.grumpygits.co.uk/all.
I'm not sure what you're describing with the userid error.
