My current web host limits outgoing web access for the "nobody" account as a measure of security. They've successfully white-listed the 4 or 5 URLs I need to continue to ping b2evo, technorati and the like, as well as maintain my antispam blacklist.

However, I'm still not able to post trackbacks to other people's blogs, as I can't have them constantly updating their whitelist for me.

I'd like to know if there's a way to have the site run under some other access than the default. Is there a method in PHP that allows me to, at a global level, log in under my shell account? I know for a fact that my shell account has full access to the web.

Thanks for any help.
