hi topanga,
to say it in simple words: if have to download version 0.9.2 and to overwrite all existing files on my server. what happend to my hacks?
hopefully i will be sucessful wit 0.9.2 the next step will be to download version 1.8
is that right?
kind regards
Joachim
You will recognize the code anymore if you compare 0.9.0.12 and 1.8
so I'm affraid, all your hacks will be gone..
There is not that mutch difference between the skins in 0.9.0.12 and 0.9.2.
So what you can do is
- backup your database
- upgrade to 0.9.2
- redo your hacks
- run your site on 0.9.2 (your database will thank you)
- Download a 1.8 copy
- make another version on your server of a blog2
- duplicate your database
- upgrade to 1.8
- see what this all is
- come accuanted with the code
- invent some nice plugins instead of hacking the code (and share them with our community ;))
- see this new site is running like you want it to
- rebackup your database from 0.9.2 version
- change your _congif.php file to point to the 0.9.2 database
- change the url of blog2 to blog
- install with the code you just tested en upgrade your 0.9.2 database to 1.8
That all because you made hacks you don't want to loose.
alright. this sounds good to me :) I will try it at the weekend to handle it.
the hacks are not "my hacks". I took the hacks from b2evo-forum.
Regards
Joachim
You stole hacks 8| you'll probably be banished to the furthest depths of hell for such dastardly deeds :|
Actually, you'll probably find that most of them have been (or will be) replaced by plugins in 1.8 ;)

99% sucessful in updating to 0.9.2 ... BUT I can not show the stats.php anymore. If I want to view the statistic in the frontdesk the URL wants to show http://myulr/skins/kubrick2evo/
in the past it was
http://myulr/index.php?disp=stats
any idea where I can change it?
this does not fit:
<?php $Blog->disp( 'blogstatsurl', 'raw' ) ?>"><strong><?php echo T_('Some viewing statistics') ?>
that correct.
Stats are no longer viewable from the frontoffice
Split the rest of this thread into the templates and skins forum, and locking this one because problem resolved.
Well the small download is for people who are running 0.9.1 and want to upgrade to 0.9.2.
Since you are running 0.9.0.12 , this is not inteded for you.
You need the full download.
And since you are planning to move to 1.8, just use the custom skin to test your database in 0.9.2, because in version 1.8 the skins have changed again.
