I screwed up

When I first installed my blog I was able to edit and add links to the sidebar. I thought I edited the _main.php file. I want to edit my changes. Now I can't find my origional additions. Can you point me in the right direction (file).

Look for your skin folder for a skin named "custom" and the _main.php will/should be in there

That's the first place I looked to make the changes. My old changes aren't there. Are there any other folders / files I should look in?
