That's because your image contains transparent areas. The system was designed for opaque pictures that cover the load indicator once they are loaded. (In that case the browser also detects that the load indicator is no longer visible and stops animating it).

You can open you image in an image editor and save it again without transparency. Then upload it again and you won't have the load indictor issue any more.
