Perhaps a variation of above problem.
I made a new installation:
There is both a 'This site' link and a 'Home' link, which both takes me to the home-collection.

How do I get rid of 'This site' link ?

It seems, one solution is to hide the home collection in the setting in the screenshot.
With this solution I can then rename 'This site' to what ever I want (home for example)
But is there a way to remove the 'This site' link ?

I had the same problem and used the same solution i.e. not showing the basic blog.
Of course there is always the css solution but I would have thought there would be a more user friendly way.
