My b2evolution Version: 1.9.3 Not Entered

I've been playing around with b2evo for a while and I really like it, but there's one thing that's been annoying me : I can't get any rss feeds displayed in my sidebar.

I'm aware of the magpierss and zfeeder plugins, but both (seem?) rather outdated and will not work on my page. Is there any other way to do this?
