Can't upload images to posts

I get this:
The blog's media directory «blogimages» could not be created, because the parent directory is not writable or does not exist.

My blog/media/users/admin path is all set to be writable. What else do I need to do?

you need to make /media/blogs/ writable (and writable to PHP, not just to you).

I chmod'd it to 777 and the same message is coming up is there something different I need to do to make it writable to php?
