[1.8.x] Tracing a forwarded message

My b2evolution Version: 1.8.x

On e of my regular commenters has been sent an abusive message using the link in B2E. I suspect it was a pupil at school (it's a school blog) and if I can trace their IP address I have a good chance to catch them.

I haven't seen an option, but is it possible to switch off the ability to send messages?

Within the user profile, you have an option to disable "allow message form"

Ah, but the comment-er isn't a registered 'user'. Just someone who fills in a valid email address in the appropriate field when submitting a comment...

If you access to web server log, you could parse it. Also in stats tab you have access to IP adresses.
I don't remember if it's possible to ban an IP adress
