Okay that's a drag. First off, you can't look it up anywhere because it's not stored in plain text anywhere. Fortunately http://forums.b2evolution.net/viewtopic.php?t=13945 will tell you how to set your password to "cabbage", but that's not what I see as a drag here.

Your hosting provider, according to http://digitalspace.net/hosting_compare.php , has provided you with an obsolete version of b2evolution. See http://b2evolution.net/downloads/index.php if you don't believe me yah? You will find almost no support here for that product anymore because, quite frankly, it's been dead for a long time.

I suggest that once you get your password issue resolved you immediately make plans to upgrade to at least 1.10.3 because it is the most stable release available.

I got into the backend.

Two questions:

1) how do i download the newest version. can i do this from the actual backend, or do i need to download it myself and put the files in my server?

2) Is there a "publish' button or something? does my index.php or .html or whatever get automatically updated? I have posted a test blog and nothing shows on my live homepage.
