My b2evolution Version: 1.8.x
Hi,
I want to consolidate two instances (1.8.1RC & 2.4.2) of B2Evolution into the a single instance. The two instances are being hosted in separate places.
Besides updating the skin from my 1.8.1RC to be compatible with B2Evolution 2.4.2, what are the steps for this consolidation? Also, how do I setup the backend if I want the blogs URLs to be something like:
www.domain1.com
www.domain2.com

Merging two installs is an absolute PITA but is doable. You basically need to upgrade your 1.8.x to 2.4.2 and then play with all the ID numbers to make them unique
blog id's, user id,'s group id's, category id's, post id's, comment id's, postcats id's, blog_groups id's, plugin id's etc etc etc
Once you've done them all ( and there are loooooads of places to change ) you export your newly numbered database and import it into your current 2.4.2 database and hope you changed them all ;)
Ohh yeah, before you start, take a backup of both databases huh ;)
