My b2evolution Version: Not Entered

I'm trying to install b2evolution, but I've run into a snag. For starters, the installation instructions say the installation file should be located at http://yoursite.com/yourfolder/install, but that directory does not exist. The only "install" folder I could locate was at http://yoursite.com/yourfolder/blogs/install, so I went there and, after entering in my MySQL information, I keep receiving this error message:

MySQL error!

Error establishing a database connection!

(Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (13))

1. Are you sure you have typed the correct user/password?
2. Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
3. Are you sure that the database server is running?

Does this mean anything to anybody here? I really like what I've seen of b2e, and it'll be a shame if I have to go some other route.

Welcome to the forums.

If you're 100% sure about the database name, user and password then you probably should change the hostname from "localhost" to the real database host address.

You can see the DB host when you log in to phpMyAdmin

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

btw I'm not sure if this is an issue or not, but the database name and the username are identical. Not sure if that's throwing off the install script?

Okay, changing the hostname did the trick. Cool beans, thanks!
