My b2evolution Version: Not Entered

Hi all, read several posts about the adsense plugin or even manually adding ad code snippet to skin both decent methods. However following what Google advise alone worries me a bit. Their instruction during set up of "adsense for feeds" is to totally redirect my b2evo blog to their feedburner, rendering the b2evo interface near useless and making users use the feedburner interface to get the ads to appear.

Have I understood Google's approach here ?

Essentially all I need is for ads to automatically appear on blog posts that are targetted to my blog content and also enable Google AdSense tools to track/report the stats. Do I really need to do this redirect thing ? What do I loose if I dont do it this way and just go for the adsense plug-in or edit skin with ad code, cos I seems like doing it this way skips the recommended google approach and I might loose some features.
