A problem in moving my b2evolution blog

My b2evolution Version: Not Entered

I have just tried to move my b2 blog from one server to another. The url is the same, the MySQL account name, password (I think), folders and everything are the same as on the old server and I made sure all the files got backed up.

However, when I uploaded everything up to the new server, I keep getting this error:

I haven't the foggiest idea what went wrong, or how to fix it. I don't know anything about programming or MySQL accounts.

if someone, in plain English, can tell me what I screwed up and what I need to do to fix it, they will be my hero.

1. Are you sure you have typed the correct user/password?
2. Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
3. Are you sure that the database server is running?

1. the user is correct. I have no idea about the password. It probably is wrong, but I wouldn't know how to find the correct one

2. the host name is correct

3. the database server is working, I even ran a diagnostic to make sure.
