This is similar if not the same issue as @northlight has noted in the post https://forums.b2evolution.net/7-1-5-7-2dev-this-site-causes

I have a site that had three collections https://unveiled.info and would go to the default page where I could select the collection to view.

I have added another collection with the same set up of URL's setup as in the others ~ as in title

Under Site Settings I have as in the screen shot, to go to the default page, which it did until I added this collection

Now if I enter just the domain name it redirects to
https://unveiled.info/index.php/tronics/
and there is the 404 of looking for a page that doesn't exist

this (Requires mod_rewrite) issue and if it wasn't an issue before this collection then why is it now?
I am using the default .htaccess with the [mod_rewrite]
